Bill Reichert, the driver of the Bar’s Leaks/Rislone-sponsored top alcohol dragster, captured his fifth consecutive NHRA title. This is an unprecedented feat in what is considered to be an extremely competitive NHRA division.
Despite a somewhat rocky finish to the season that included a twelfth place qualifying effort and an uncharacteristic departure in the second round of eliminations at the NHRA season finale in Pomona, CA this past weekend, Rislone Top Alcohol Dragster pilot Bill Reichert was able to hang on to his points lead and capture an unprecedented fifth NHRA Top Alcohol Championship.
Reichert’s 12th-place qualifying effort, a 5.362 @ 265.80mph run, marked the first time in 15 races that he and his Owosso, MI-based team had qualified in the bottom half of the field, and only the third time that it had happened in the last sixty some events.
