There is a man in Orangeburg, South Carolina named Marvin who goes out of his way — way out of his way — to help people he’s never met.
In times where people are in need, you generally hear the horrific tales of people being taken advantage of. We were safe at the truck stop and could have laid the seats back and slept in the van until Monday and started the whole process then, but Marvin took time out of his Sunday and came and helped a stranger. Today we are no longer strangers and I hope to come back and visit Orangeburg. Nonetheless, this man is what is right about our communities today and there is not enough attention paid to people like him, in print or in conversation. He is an asset to your community, hard-working family man business owner and father, and I just think people should know that.
Marvin invests 6+ hours into a job that initially looked much easier and refuses to expand his original quote for services? Unheard of.
Sadly.
Way to go, Marvin.
(Marvin owns A Nu U, an auto detailing shop in Orangeburg. If you’re in the area and want to use an honest and clearly reputable shop, look no further.)
